Wow has moving to this somewhat accidental rental space been transformative!

Both the hubsters and I are completely rearranging our relationship to our things, each other’s things, and all the relationships in between.

Releasing, coming into present time… So much old sadness, anger, and grief finding legitimacy and love instead of clinging to old papers and things.

I’ve spent a lot of time shredding papers*, crying, shredding more papers, crying more…

And it is finally starting to look a little bit like a living space.

*Shredding papers may actually be the most satisfying thing in the universe. The machine eats the paper! If you haven’t tried it, do!

Someday we’ll set up the top of that altar, but in the meantime, look! Buttmonsters! And friends! Also our handfasting cords…

More of the bedroom.

The entryway. Complete with a bunch of stuff to be put away still and a bunch of stuff on its way out. But we can actually walk through it now, so that’s a start.

What will eventually be our main altar (right now a mini warehouse for crystals…if you want to be surrounded by crystals, marry an energy healer).

Here’s my little office corner, coming together slowly but surely. You can even see my view of our BACKYARD. (Oh I am so happy not to be in an apartment.)

Here’s more or less the same thing, but with (some) clear floor. Which is impressive, after a week of no floor showing anywhere.

That’s all for now. In another week or so it should be truly gorgeous, but I’m really proud of how far it’s come. This space is 300 square feet smaller than our last place, plus has less storage. And we’re taking it as an opportunity to shed everything we don’t need. It feels so good!
